Tall Tales of Old Florida
Experience Tampa’s 19th-century living history museum after dark during Tall Tales of Old Florida at Cracker Country! Meet costumed storytellers spinning uniquely Florida stories about skunk apes, misbehaving trains, cow hunting giants and other legendary creatures. Enjoy Victorian-era games, stargazing, demonstrations and other spooky season fun! A little scary, a little funny and always family friendly, Tall Tales is a Florida history adventure by lantern light.
This family-friendly evening includes:
· A lantern-lit walking tour of the museum grounds, featuring fantastical Florida tales performed by live storytellers
· A vintage magic lantern experience, showcasing the birth of film technology
· 19th century games and activities
· Exhibits featuring early science fiction and mystery literature and film
· Live blacksmithing demonstrations
· Stargazing with the St. Petersburg Astronomy Club
· Complimentary snacks
· Holiday shopping in the General Store
Tickets are sold in time blocks. The tour experience lasts approximately one hour and begins at your ticketed time. The other activities are continuous throughout the evening. Come early or stay late and enjoy this unique, family friendly autumn adventure!
